Is Adam Lambert Underated???

I
Its been a couple of years since Adam Lambert SMASHED Worldwide charts with singles Whataya Want From Me and if I Had You. In a music industry where many cant even "sing" no one can deny that Adam is full of talent.

But for some strange reason Adam fails time and time again to command huge pop audiences. For an example his best selling single has yet to cross the two million mark. Not to mention his first studio album has not TO THIS DATE sold a million copies. So here i want to ask you this???

is Adam Lambert underrated??

Is his sexuality the reason why he is unable to command large numbers ??

Justices TWO CENT: His latest single Better than I know Myself is currently flopping on the U.S charts, which is surprising since the track is so good!!!

  1. I'm hoping that Trespassing will finally break the inconceivable, judgemental barriers that seem to still stand in his way. Adam has some solid collaboraters on this album, such as Nile Rogers and Pharrel Williams which may give him a boost. I think Adam is still paying for that old AMA performance and the religious conservatives aren't going to forget it. They may have influence on the advertisers and radio program managers that pick the radio play. Look at what we're seeing with the GOP candidates that are pushing their religious views and trying to abolish rights of those that don't fit their beliefs. Adam's glam FYE album cover also may have turned off some straight males that are insecure about their macho image. The glitter and makeup unfortunately contributed to a "Liberace" type label too and the entertainment world still wants to put artists in a box and label them. Adam doesn't fit in any box. He is so brilliantly diverse and unlimited talented that he defies any mold. Adam's a smart, savvy guy and he's learned a lot in the past two years, carefully laying his groundwork without losing the essence that we find so exciting. His more natural, less flamboyant look is already making a difference. He's elegant, edgy and fashion forward and gaining notice in the fashion world. He's steadily building his fan base overseas and it's paying off. I think Adam's talent and beautiful spirit will finally be recognized and gain the fame and respect that he so richly deserves. He is a genuine super star. I will always be a fan!

    1. funbunn40 > Fellow Glambert! I've been following you and many of our great friends' posts back in 24/7's blog. You've always been an amazing fan and supported Adam with every power you had. I've seen it and salute you greatly for it...

But may I just ask as a Glambert, that let's think about the question deeper and for once let us not fire back with "hopes" and "wishes" and the always great praises for our dear Adam and just really find the reason why?!

I mean we all love him and we aaaallll would love the greatest to happen for him. But It's not always about hoping and wishing and voting and praising. Sometimes we should really go after the reasons! You're 100% at point with your insights on his first album but IT MUST BE MORE THAN THAT. Something's not right and we all know it but don't know what it is!

I think if we really love him, we should go out and really ask people from different points of views about SOLELY HIS MUSIC and see what's there that his managing team isn't noticing.

I mean no one could have put it better than the dear blogger, "In a music industry where many cant even "sing" no one can deny that Adam is full of talent." So this is completely abnormal, he must be much much more successful than he is now... What is really going on?!

    2. Ive have supported Adam Lambert since the very beginning. But i thought for long time that Adam's failure to command larger audiences was because of his sexuality. Its the only thing ANYONE can have against him. I hope that you follow this blog and comment on more posts.

    4. @ Jax, Thanks so much for your kind words and I get what you're saying. I've been campaigning and asking questions of just about everyone I meet. I was in the ER a few weeks ago and casually mentioned Adam, joking that I was there because I was so fascinated by his talent and watched so many of his performances that it affected my health! They remembered him from Idol, but had no idea what he's done since. One said he was flamboyant and over the top and another thought the screaming was too much, but thought it was cute that I was such a fan. Of course I gave them an update on his success and different image, explaining that his image fits the current album and it will change with each theme or story he tells. I think we must have patience, support this album, appearances, etc. the best way we can and give Adam this time before we diminish it before it is even released. I'm just as impatient and anxious for the world to embrace his monumental talent, but stop and think what he has already accomplished in just 2-3 years, with much against him because of his sexual orientation and performances trying out his audience and learning to settle in what type of artist he really wants to be. It's been a learning curve not only for Adam, but for us as fans. Many of us with diverse opinions, but ultimately wanting Adam to succeed and solutions all coming from a good place. Just thinking back of the many places Adam's been appearing on the Idol tour, the GNT and putting so much time and thought into this second album that has a lot of expectations and stress producing it, dealing with lack of privacy, always being charming when exhausted or tired of the same old questions, keeping fans happy tweeting as often as he does,it's a lot. Your suggestion for us to ask people about their perceptions of Adam is a good one that can make a difference, but the album is finished and Trespassing is ready to be released. Giving Adam feedback now wouldn't change what's been completed. He's so proud of this album and his major part of creating it. Negative fears would only take away his joy and anticipation. He's so proud of it and I think it will sell, given some time. This album may very well be successful, especially with the credibility of the upcoming Queen concerts and his worldwide fan base expanding. There's plenty of time for input before he does the third album and after the results of Trespassing are in. Just my opinion with what I've gathered up to this time. I enjoy your input and it's always a good thing to share them. I always get new information and opinions and I like to learn or get a different side. I did leave my thoughts on 24/7. It was a good thread with real thoughts. We Glamberts are a good bunch and sharing our Adam obsessions and addictions are the best gifts!

  2. @ Justice Lee,You definitely get a conversation going and that's a good thing. I didn't mean to get so carried away, but the spirit moves me when it's about Adam. I agree that Adam being gay has been a stumbling block, but I think he will make a great impact on these prejudices, not by preaching or letting it overshadow his music, but by being his honest real self, so normal if there is such a thing, as it's all relative and being his smart, charming, insightful self. He may be doing it a few people at a time, but it's pretty hard to dislike him, once you've met him. I think his main objective creating this album is to show how much more we are all alike than different. We all want to love, be loved and have a happy, peaceful, fulfilling life. It's really quite simple. It's humans that complicates life with perceived judgements that most times are off the mark. Glad you're a discerning Glambert with excellent taste! You'll never be bored!
